How Dubai Sends Flowers: A Year of Delivery Data
We looked at 12 months of flower deliveries across Dubai to see what the city actually orders — the occasions, the timing, the colours, and the flowers that last longest in a Dubai summer.
The short version
1. Why Dubai sends flowers
Flowers here are everyday, not occasion-only — but one reason still leads the rest. Across the year, the single biggest prompt to send a bouquet is a birthday, close to 1 in 3 of every order. Anniversaries and romance come next, and a steady share still goes out for no occasion at all.
2. The florist’s calendar
Demand isn’t flat. It moves with the gifting calendar and the school year, with sharp spikes around a handful of dates.
3. The 5:37pm rush
Same-day is the default expectation, and most of those orders land in a tight window just before the daily cut-off.
“You’re not the only one ordering at 5:37pm.”
4. How far ahead people plan
Some occasions are booked in advance; others are same-hour decisions. The gap between them is bigger than you’d expect.
5. Where the flowers go
Deliveries follow where people live and work, not the tourist map. East and central Dubai together take half of every order, while the newer communities to the south are still catching up.

6. Dubai’s colour palette
Across every occasion combined, this is how the city’s bouquets break down by dominant colour, with red out in front of pink and white.
7. The flowers themselves
One stem leads by a wide margin: the rose is 55% of everything sent, well ahead of lilies, then a long tail of peonies, sunflowers and tulips.
8. What actually lasts
A bouquet’s lifespan depends less on price than on the flower and where it sits. Here’s how common stems hold up in an air-conditioned room versus near a sunny window.
Make them last with our flower care guide, or skip water altogether with Forever Roses.
9. What a bouquet costs
Most orders sit in the mid-range. Seven in ten land under AED 500.
10. How big a bouquet
Most people keep it modest. Six in ten bouquets are 20–30 stems; arrangements of 100 stems or more are a rare, high-occasion order.
11. Order Volume By Product Type
Fresh stems are still the default, at six in ten orders. The rest of the mix has broadened: dried arrangements make up a fifth, with preserved Forever Roses and gift add-ons taking the remainder.
How we did this
Based on a full year of delivered orders placed between 1 Jan 2025 and 31 Dec 2025. All figures are share-of-total percentages; aggregated and anonymised, with no order counts or customer detail shown. Vase-life numbers come from in-house testing under typical indoor conditions and will vary with care.
